Cutting chart
Cut strips across the width of fabric, then subcut. All measurements include 1/4" seam allowances.
Prints2 3/4 yd
Cut 27 strips 3 1/2" x WOF.
- Subcut 315 3 1/2" squares
Background2 1/4 yd
Cut 21 strips 3 1/2" x WOF.
- Subcut 252 3 1/2" squares
Border1 1/8 yd
Cut 8 strips 4 1/2" x WOF; join them end to end, then cut the four borders to length.
Binding3/4 yd
Cut 8 strips 2 1/2" x WOF; join them on the diagonal and press in half lengthwise.
Backing, binding, batting
Backing
5 1/2 yd of 42" fabric: 2 panels 97" long, seamed lengthwise, for a 79" x 97" back (4" extra on every side for the longarm or your frame). Or 2 3/4 yd of 108" wide backing, no seams.
Binding
8 strips 2 1/2" x WOF, joined on the diagonal and folded in half: 320" around the quilt plus 12" for the corners and the join.
Batting
A piece at least 79" x 97".
