6" finished (6 1/2" with seam allowances). 3 patches. Make 256.
Cutting chart
Cut strips across the width of fabric, then subcut. All measurements include 1/4" seam allowances.
Dark3 1/8 yd
Cut 43 strips 2 1/2" x WOF.
- Subcut 256 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strips
Medium3 1/8 yd
Cut 43 strips 2 1/2" x WOF.
- Subcut 256 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strips
Light3 1/8 yd
Cut 43 strips 2 1/2" x WOF.
- Subcut 256 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strips
Border1 7/8 yd
Cut 11 strips 5 1/2" x WOF; join them end to end, then cut the four borders to length.
Binding7/8 yd
Cut 11 strips 2 1/2" x WOF; join them on the diagonal and press in half lengthwise.
Backing, binding, batting
Backing
9 1/2 yd of 42" fabric: 3 panels 114" long, seamed lengthwise, for a 114" x 114" back (4" extra on every side for the longarm or your frame).
Binding
11 strips 2 1/2" x WOF, joined on the diagonal and folded in half: 424" around the quilt plus 12" for the corners and the join.
Batting
A piece at least 114" x 114".
